FUBUW stands for For Us By Us Women. The Black is silent in the name. It is not silent in the brand.

Look closer at our logo. That caret points up for a reason. It points to BLACK. Because this brand was always for us, by us, Black women, even when the industry made us feel invisible in spaces we deserved to occupy.

The name holds the full truth. For Us By Us Black Women. And while our community welcomes every body, every gender, every sexuality and every pronoun, this brand was built from the perspective of a Black woman who walked into Pilates spaces and did not always see herself there. So she built something that would never make anyone feel that way.

Pilates is one of the most transformative movement practices in the world. And for a long time it was not built with us in mind. The imagery, the pricing, the culture of the industry has historically centered a very specific person. Black women have always moved with intention, discipline, and grace. We have always deserved access to practices that honor our bodies and our wholeness.

FUBUW was founded by Coia, a BASI comprehensively trained Pilates teacher who refused to wait for the industry to make space. So she built her own.

What started as a personal practice became a calling. And that calling is guided entirely by faith. Every class taught, every piece of content created, every product designed is rooted in the belief that God placed this purpose here intentionally. FUBUW moves because He said move.

The Crown Jewel Series, our beach mat Pilates experience at Manhattan Beach, was born from a commitment to accessibility. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. BASI method instruction. No compromise on quality. Just people showing up for themselves on the sand, together. Because the method should never be a privilege.

Our women only Saturday morning community class remains a sacred space. A $5 reservation holds your spot. For the women this brand was built for, by a woman who never forgot where she came from.

Private sessions, luxury grip socks, and global retreats all live under the same roof for the same reason. To prove that Black women belong in wellness spaces, at the front of the room and at the center of the experience. And that everyone who stands beside them is welcome too.

FUBUW Pilates is rooted in four pillars. Faith in motion. Flow in movement. Freedom in lifestyle. Feminine strength.

This is not just a fitness brand. It is a reclamation. A seat at a table we decided to build ourselves.
